Control

As conservatives, we believe in less government control in our lives, but the education system is often overlooked in this aspect, where we instead entrust our children to the system and expect them to come out in 12 years ready to face the world. Unfortunately, there is no longer a way to ensure our children grow up with the same worldview we hold, instead having them raised in the way the government determines to be best. The education minister maintains a solid grip on this realm, and it is here we must be wary and seriously consider detaching education from politics.

There are 3 ways the government has the ability to control the system. The first is funding, as “he who pays the piper calls the tune.” Second is curriculum, something that is developed by the government and then handed over to the schools which the students are then to be taught. Third is notification, except that in this case, what the parents don’t know can hurt their children.
